Update: This treadmill has been discontinued.

The Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill is one of the most stable mid-priced treadmills in the market today.

What's more, it is jam packed with features to satisfy even those hardcore runners. And, it comes with long warranties, so you don’t have to worry about the quality of the product.

Is This the Best Treadmill for You?

If you liked the Smooth 7.1HR, then you’ll definitely love this machine. The Smooth 7.1HR Pro is the improved version of the 7.1HR. These improvements include a more powerful motor, an enhanced LED console and a longer warranty.

I believe this treadmill would benefit almost everyone. Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran runner, this model has something for you. Plus, it is a mid-priced treadmill, so most people can afford it.

However, the Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill is also around $200 more expensive than its predecessor. So if don’t feel like buying this model, then I suggest you check out the Smooth 6.25. It is currently the best treadmill you can buy below $1,500.

Features and Benefits

I believe that the main attribute of this treadmill is its exclusive power fold feature. It not only conveniently folds to conserve space, but it has power mechanics to make the process as simple as a push of a button. This feature would benefit those with limited areas at home as it only takes a fraction of the floor space when folded.

The Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill comes with a more powerful 2.75HP continuous duty motor. It gives you years of maintenance free service with high horsepower but quiet operation. It has a max speed of 10mph and 15 incline levels.

The sizable 20" x 54" tread belt is ideal for both walking and running. This non slip, long lasting 2-ply belt lessens friction and noise so you get whisper quiet workouts every time. Also, the machine weighs around 280lbs. And with a heavy unit like that, you can be sure of its stability.

With this machine’s heart rate chest strap, heart rate controlled workouts can now be done hands-free. It is considered as one of the most efficient way to exercise, the heart rate control feature automatically adjusts the speed and incline of the machine for your optimum workout intensity. In addition, it keeps your exercises within your safe zone.

The improved LED console monitors your speed, distance, calories, time and pulse simultaneously so you’ll always know all important information regarding your workout. Plus, this machine boasts 6 challenging preset programs and 9 user profiles to give you the variety and flexibility you need to reach your goals.

2.5" commercial grade rollers lessen the tightening of the tread belt and decrease tension and friction. This lessens the time spent on adjusting belt tracking while at the same time extending the life of the deck, belt and bearings.

Another new feature that the Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill boasts is its exclusive Impression Shock Absorption™ technology. This feature lets you exercise more safely and for longer periods of time with less fatigue by reducing harmful impact on your knees, joints and back.

Like all Smooth treadmills, the Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill also comes with generous warranties. It offers a lifetime warranty on frames and motor, 5 years on all parts, and a year on in-home service/labor. With warranties like these, you know that the product is of high quality since the manufacturer is obviously behind their product.

What Owners Didn’t Like…

The only problem people had with this treadmill is the delivery delays. But that is to be expected for most Smooth treadmills because of the high demands for their machines. Also, like most Smooth models, the price includes free shipping, but indoor delivery and set up costs extra.

Recommendation

I recommend the Smooth 7.1HR Pro treadmill. If you’re looking for value in a mid-priced treadmill, then this is definitely one of your better choices.

However, if you still think that this machine's new features are not worth the additional $200, then I highly recommend you check out the Smooth 6.25. It has the same price tag as the old Smooth 7.1HR but comes with a bigger motor, better belt, enhanced LED display and longer warranties. The Smooth 6.25 is definitely one of the best models ever from Smooth.
