Precor 9.27 Treadmill Review

Precor 9.27 Treadmill

Precor 9.27 Treadmill

The Precor 9.27 treadmill is the more advanced, and more expensive ($400 more) sibling of the Precor 9.23 treadmill.

Both treadmills are similar to each other except the 9.27 has more workout programs, a superior heart rate monitoring system, better electronics and comes with side handrails for added safety.

Is It for You?

Both treadmills are similar to each other except the 9.27 has more workout programs, a superior heart rate monitoring system, better electronics and comes with side handrails for added safety.

Is It For You?

If you are ready to spend about $2,000 for a technologically advanced fitness machine with superior features, then by all means, get the Precor 9.27 treadmill. The price at first might actually scare most people, but considering this is a Precor, it is actually a bargain.

What You’ll Get:

Powered by a sturdy continuous duty 3.0 HP motor, the Precor 9.27 treadmill is built to last and to accommodate even the most demanding workouts. Combined with multi-ply belt, 2.35” rollers, and a precision-machined steel drive, you’ll get a comfortable, smooth, and quiet workout for the longest time you need it.

More of the high-tech features of the 9.27 treadmill that you can look forward to include multi-zone shock absorption, 10 workout programs, backlit LCD display, SmartRate heart rate display, 2 user IDs, up to 12 mph speed level, and up to 15% incline level.

The Ground Effects Impact Control System is designed to absorb shocks and reduce stress on joints during leisure walks or extensive runs. This provides a more relaxing and comfortable workout routine. This technology is actually the one Precor uses on their commercial machines in health clubs all over the world.

Built with stride support technology that automatically adjusts the speed of the tread belt so your run would feel more natural. The machine is capable of mechanically changing the speed when it senses your feet are slowing down or accelerating, thus avoiding too much impact and preventing injuries. The speed of the machine goes all the way up to 12 miles per hour, while the adjustment happens up to 57 times a second.

The machine also comes with handgrip sensors that sense your pulse and heart rate while exercising, and show the data on the SmartRate display. This wireless heart rate telemetry provides accurate readings of your heart rate versus your target during extensive workouts.

In case of emergencies, the built-in magnetic safety clip in the machine detaches and shuts off its power immediately. This brings the machine to gradually stop and prevent any accident that the workout may have cause.

This machine is smaller and more compact than the typical $2,000 treadmills. Although, it may be perfect for minimalists and those trying to save space at home, the compact size and light weight of the machine might not be able to completely accommodate the demands of experienced runners. For one, its treadbelt is smaller than that of other treadmills in this price range.

If the smaller treadbelt size doesn't bother you, then the Precor 9.27 treadmill is a great bargain. With its current sale price of under $2,000, this is one of the best bargains you will find in the market today. (See also our best buy treadmills page for other treadmills that we recommend)
