I just bought a Smooth 7.35 treadmill from smooth Canada.
The invoice shows 7.35R and I don't realize the actual difference of the two.
I received the machine and found out there are non compliance with their specification shown on their web. First is the roller size - it is only 2" instead of 2.5",
Second is the weight of the machine shows clearly on the box 100 kg , or 220 pounds instead of 271pounds which is 50 pounds less.
I don't know how these factors in real affect the performance , sturdiness and service life for moving or non moving components. But for sure if I have to reconsidering of choosing a treadmill again this factors may lead me to look for other brands .
I was told from the smooth team that I cannot return the machine without any freight charges for I have sign the shippment paper from the shipper as acceptance .
I have no choice of keeping the machine.
I test run it and it is acceptable, but I am up set about this shopping experience.
My advice for viewers: do not trust figures shown on the specifications, feel and see for yourself , in this world there are always liars.

SLOW not SMOOTH

by Linda
(Ramona, CA)

I'd like to give you a review on the treadmill's performance, but I'm still trying to get delivery. What they DON"T tell you on their site is that it will take you a MONTH to receive it - and it's not due to high demand, the carrier they use is slow and customer service is not their thing. When I contacted Smooth they told me I could go pick it up from the carrier myself - not much on customer service either. The website tells you 7-10 days, I'm on day 27.... not happy!

Not impressed with Smooth

by Tim
(Oceanside, CA)

I purchased a smooth 8.8 hrc to do serious training, as I run close to 4 minutes on the mile. The belt was much noisier than I was led to believe from the reviews, and I wore holes in it at just over 1000 miles. I did the preventive maintenance on the belt. I will say that I probably landed on the same spot a lot, but still, for the money, I thought it was going to be a gym quality unit. The deck made a popping noise soon after purchase, and it was replaced under warranty. The new deck made noise within the first year again. I went through three electrical circuit boards in 5 years. I paid for the last 2, 125 a pop. I eventually burned up the motor, and could've had it replaced, but it needed a belt and made deck noise anyway, so I just bought a cheap nordic trac from Costco(a true piece of crap, I might mention as well!) for 900 dollars. I just expected quieter and more gym quality durability for over 2,000.

Don't BUY!!

by Steve
(Bowling Green, Ky.)

I owned a 9.1P until last week when it finally quit. I bought it online in 2003. There is no customer service to speak of. When I called about a new board-still under warranty-they put me off onto Spirit fitness-of which no one has returned my call. Until reading reviews this past week about problems with service, I too say the same thing. They are glad to take your money-but not so glad to service their product!
