The Horizon T52 treadmill is another low quality entry level treadmill from Horizon.
Compared to the cheaper Horizon T51, this model comes with a slightly longer motor warranty, more programmed workouts, and a bigger running space.
Just like the T51, the biggest asset of this machine is its beautiful packaging. It would be perfect for you if you want a treadmill you could proudly display in your home. However, it still doesn’t have enough power, features, quality and specs most serious runners need. So if you love to run, this machine is not for you.
This Horizon model comes with a 2.0 HP continuous duty motor that has a max speed of 10mph and max incline of 10%(with 500 lbs thrust). It is a little more powerful than cheaper Horizons but it is still not enough to satisfy serious runners.
Update: This treadmill has been discontinued. |
The 20” x 55” running deck is also an improvement from the T51. It has more than enough space to make runners feel comfortable. However, my problem with this is that belts of this size need powerful motors. And since this unit’s motor isn’t that strong, this big belt-small motor combination might result to lots of repairs in the future.
You’ll also get 6 preset workouts to give you even more choices in your exercise. And it still offers the contact heart rate which is perfect for those who love to train in their target heart rate zones.
And finally, as I’ve mentioned above, the Horizon T52 treadmill has a longer motor warranty than the T51. It comes with a 10 year motor warranty. Other warranties include lifetime for frames, 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor.
Other than the design and the big tread belt(which I think will do more evil than good to this machine), everything else is below average, especially its quality.
The Horizon T52 treadmill is definitely not recommended. If you have one, get ready for some repair costs after a year or two of continuous usage.
If you really want a quality entry level machine, I suggest you visit our best treadmill page and look for a machine in the $1,000 or below price point.
