Horizon Elite 1.1T Treadmill Review

Horizon Elite 1.1T Treadmill Review

The Horizon Elite 1.1T treadmill is the cheapest treadmill in the Elite series.

It is actually the only Elite model being sold below $1,000. But the good news is that even with a low price tag, it still boasts the same 25 year motor warranty commonly found in more expensive Elite treadmills.

Is It Right for You?

If you’re looking for an affordable treadmill with a long motor warranty, then you’re in the right page. This unit has one of the best motor warranties under $1,000. However, other than the motor, all of its other parts are below average. So if you’re a serious runner, this would not be a good choice for you.

What It Offers

Update: This treadmill has been discontinued.

As an alternative you might want to check out our best treadmill page.

This machine is only offering a poor 1.75HP continuous duty motor. This motor, in my opinion, isn’t powerful enough to give serious runners a decent workout. It is only good for walking or light jogging.

The 20” x 55” running surface is pretty big considering its price. But I still don’t think this should be a reason for you to buy this machine. Big tread belts need powerful motors and since this model has a small motor, it would need to work doubly hard to move the large belt. This in return, would lead to lots of headaches in the future.

And finally, as I’ve mentioned above, this machine comes with a hard-to-beat 25 year motor warranty. Other warranties include lifetime for frames, 2 year for parts and 1 year for labor.

Weakness

The big belt combined with a small motor would result to lots of repair and replacement costs in the future, especially since this unit has below average quality.

Recommendation

The Horizon Elite 1.1T treadmill is definitely not recommended. With all the future expenses associated with this treadmill, you’ll save more by buying the Smooth 5.15P. It is considered by numerous experts as the best treadmill below $1,000.
