Golds Gym VX 5000 Treadmill Reviews

Golds Gym VX 5000 Treadmill

Golds Gym VX 5000 Treadmill

Update: This treadmill has been discontinued.

As an alternative you might want to check out our best buy treadmills page.

The Golds Gym VX 5000 treadmill used to be one of the best entry level treadmills you can buy until the recent price increase.

And with its new price, I don’t think people would still be attracted to this model.

Is This Your Best Buy Treadmill?

If you are looking for a treadmill that will be used for walking or light jogging, then this machine might be the one for you. However, if you’re serious about running then this model is not for you. I suggest you visit our best treadmill page and choose a treadmill in the above $1,500 price range.

What It Offers

This treadmill boasts a 2.5 continuous HP motor that has a max speed of 12mph and a max incline of 10%. But since this is an entry level treadmill, I recommend you don’t maximize this machine’s capabilities. Low-priced treadmills are not as durable as their more expensive counterparts.

The 19” x 60” treadbelt is pretty impressive (you usually see a belt of this size only on $2,000 and above models) considering this is an entry level treadmill. It is perfect for tall individuals who usually require longer strides.

The 10 built-in workouts give you the variety and flexibility you need to reach you training goals. And if you’re still not satisfied with the number of exercises this machine is offering, you also have the option for more since the VX 5000 is iFIT.com compatible.

Other features include an EKG pulse grip sensor for those who love to exercise in their target heart rate zone, 4-window LED display which shows you basic information regarding your run, and 2 CoolAire™ fans to keep you fresh throughout your workout.

Weakness

So far the biggest weakness I see in this treadmill is its recent price hike. Before the increase, this model was actually one of the best treadmills you can buy below $900. But with its current price, this once great value treadmill is now just another ordinary machine.

Recommendation

To conclude, I don’t recommend the Golds Gym VX 5000 treadmill. There are other treadmills in this price range that can give you more value for your money. Also, if you want an excellent entry level treadmill, I suggest you look for one in our best treadmill page.
