Ironman M3 Treadmill

I would completely love this treadmill except for one recurring problem:
I'll be walking at a good 4.0 clip, my heart rate up and steady, and without warning, having touched nothing, the belt stops - DEAD stops. It's awful. You have to shut the machine down in order to get it to start up again which takes a minute. The shock of the sudden stop is irritating enough but having my heart rate suddenly drop is even more unpleasant. I've had this happen several times in an hour, while other times on the treadmill there is no problem. I don't know why it does this. The emergency peg is in place, but maybe there is something loose connected to the peg. All I can say is, it's terribly disconcerting to be enjoying a vigorous walk or run one second, only to be at a dead stop the next second. If you're thinking to buy a treadmill you might want to find out how sensitive the emergency peg is and if you could end up with the same problem that I'm having.

Sudden stops
by: Anonymous

I have the same problem as one of the other people who posted here. My treadmill will suddenly stop - typically though, it only stops when I've touched something... usually the handle. There will be a small little shock from my fingertip as I touch the handle, and then it will come to a dead stop, as if I've pulled the emergency cord. It doesn't happen every time I touch the handle, but 2-4 times during a 1 hour workout. The treadmill is otherwise great, but this problem is causing me to look around for another machine.... not another Ironman.
