Would not do it again

I purchased a Horizon 7.1 treadmill and from the day it was set up it started breaking down. small pieces of black plastic (presumably a roller or guide under the belt?) started coming out from under the belt at the back. This was under light use and began the first day so I can only presume the unit was broken/defective from the start. The instructions tell you to call Horizon directly and not go back to the store where it was purchased. Calling Horizon's 1-800 number gets you a recording that they cannot take your call but will call you back. Still waiting... How is that acceptable for a brand new purchase? I have read many other reviews stating the same. It's just not worth the chance so find something with much more reliable reviews. If I had read more I probably would not have purchased this brand in the first place. Buyers beware.

Caveat Emptor!!
by: Anonymous

Do not buy this brand of treadmill! It is a nightmare. The circuit boards constantly need to be replaced, and after the product is out of warranty, Horizon washes its hands of the product. Getting service is a joke. The repairman sat in my basement for over an hour on the phone with Horizon only to be told the problem was the circuit board. Horizon could have told me that over the phone. Instead I had to pay $100 for the repairman to call Horizon. Horizon then wanted an additional $250 for the circuit board. What if that doesn't fix the problem? Dump more money into this $1,100 clothes hanger. I don't think so.

Horizon Fitness Customer Service treadmill
by: crabtree

well, when it comes to Horizon, try 608-839-1240, press 0 for the operator, and then ask for Giovanni(head of what she calls "WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE), and I kid you not!
Or ask for Mike Olson, VP for Horizon crap, or Nathan Pyles the CEO.
Yes, Giovanni preaches that her and her 30 kids or workers, are World-Class Customer Service!
OMG, they don't have a clue....they'd have to actually answer the tele to have that. Then they'd have to ship the right part, then lets hope that replacement part works, then lets hope the thing actually works after the "customer" gets to replace their own parts????? ugh...now thats World Class I'd say!

Broken after one month of ownership.
by: Anonymous

Bought a T101 CT5.2 Horizon Treadmill from Canadian Tire about 6 weeks ago, 2 weeks of which it's been sitting broken in my living room.

In the middle of a very moderate workout (i.e. I'm 150 lbs and never went above 5mph), one evening it quit with an "E1" message. Called Horizon the next day and left a callback message. They did call me back. I told them the problem and then they sent me the replacement part in the mail.

Exer-tech called me to tell me to call them to set up an appointment to fix it when the part came in the mail. Well, that part arrived Thursday and have been trying since then (it is now Monday evening) to contact Exer-tech but no one picks up or returns the messages I've left.

Tried calling Horizon twice today to find out if there is another company to call to fix it I have had no luck with getting someone on the phone or to return the call-back messages.

I'm thinking that this problem is probably just one of many that I'm going to have too, judging by these other reviews. Wish I could just get my money back and put it towards a gym membership instead...
