Star Trac E-TR Treadmill Review

Star Trac E-TR Treadmill
The Star Trac E-TR treadmill is one of the biggest and strongest treadmills in the market today but it is also surprisingly more affordable than most Star Trac treadmills.
And just like other Star Trac models, this one also boasts of excellent quality with numerous features for serious runners.
Is This for You?
If you are a hardcore runner with a big budget, then you can't go wrong by buying this machine. It is built for serious runners who would use it often. However, if you cannot afford to spend $5,000 for a treadmill, I would suggest you visit our best buy treadmills page to look for an alternative in your price range.
What You’ll Get
The Star Trac E-TR offers a huge 5.0 HP continuous duty AC drive motor. The AC motor offers more power compared to DC drive motors found in most home treadmills. It has a maximum speed of 15mph which is more than enough for most hardcore runners and has a maximum incline of 15% to supply even more intensity.
The spacious 20” x 60” tread belt provides enough room for even the tallest of people (who normally has bigger strides) to run comfortably. This running surface also features the Soft Trac® triple cell cushioning system which provides maximum shock absorption to minimizing running-related injuries.
There are 12 pre-set programs included in the Star Trac Sport to give you the variety you need to enjoy your exercise. These programs include Fitness Test (Modified Balke Ware), Firefighter Test (Modified Gerkin Protocol), ARMY Protocol, USMC Protocol, USAF Protocol and NAVY Protocol.
If you like heart rate workouts, then this machine also features that. The Polar® heart rate system constantly monitors your heart while the Dynamic heart rate controls the speed and incline of your workouts to keep you in your target heart rate zone.
Other features include the integrated iPod® connector and USB power port so you can charge and listen to your media device while running, innovative Aero Bar handle which provides multiple alternative hold points around the display and the centered dual-adjustable personal fans to keep you cool even during long workouts.
What it Lacks?
For a $5,000 treadmill, I believe that Star Trac could have offered a bigger running space. Although it is not small, some cheaper treadmills offer more spacious running area than the 20" x 60" that the E-TR offers.
Recommendation:
I highly recommend the Star Trac E-TR treadmill to hardcore runners who can afford it. It is simply one of the best home treadmills money can buy. However, if $5,000 is beyond what you can afford, then I suggest you visit our best buy treadmills page to look for other quality treadmills within your budget.
