Spirit Z9 Treadmill Review

Spirit Z9 Treadmill

Spirit Z9 Treadmill

Like most in the Z series, The Spirit Z9 treadmill is also beautifully packaged. But unlike the Z8

model, this one actually comes with good specs and features while still maintaining an affordable price tag.

Is This Machine for You?

This machine is perfect for you if you're looking for a feature rich treadmill that has enough power to handle high intensity workouts.

Features and Benefits

The Spirit Z9 has a 3.0 HP continuous duty motor. Its maximum speed is 12mph and its max elevation is 15%. It also comes with speed and incline control on the arm rests so you can easily adjust the intensity of your workouts.

The 20” x 55” running surface comes with double woven 2 ply belt and 2.5 inch rollers. With rollers this big, you can be confident that the motor won’t have a hard time moving the belt thus, extending the life of the treadmill.

This Spirit model also boasts 5 standard programs, 3 user defined programs, and 2 separate heart rate control programs to give more choices and flexibility in your workouts.

The LED console has 6 windows that display important information so you can easily track the progress of your workouts. Plus, it comes with folding features to save space in your home while not in use.

What It Lacks

The one thing this treadmill lacks is the quality. Dyaco, the manufacturer of the Spirit brand, uses only standard parts for their machines. As a result, the quality of Spirit treadmills, including this one, are not as good as comparable treadmills from other brands.

Recommendation

Normally, I would recommend a machine like the Spirit Z9 treadmill. But this unit belongs in the $1,500 price range where competition is really tough. And since its quality is below what other treadmills in this price range is offering, I really couldn’t recommend this machine.

If you really want a treadmill below $1,500, please visit our Smooth 7.1HR review page. It is around $200 more expensive than the Z9, but for that little amount, you'll get better quality, features and specs.
