Proform PaceTrainer Treadmill Reviews

Proform PaceTrainer Treadmill

Proform PaceTrainer Treadmill Reviews

The Proform PaceTrainer treadmill comes with a slightly longer motor warranty than other Proform treadmills.

Although it still comes with the classic 90 day parts and labor warranties, the motor is now covered for up to 3 years.

Is This the Best Treadmill for You?

Like most Proform treadmills, this one is also good only for walking or light jogging. Running on this treadmill is not recommended due to its cheap parts. So if you're not really into running, then this model might be the one you’re looking for.

Update: This treadmill has been discontinued.

As an alternative you might want to check out our best treadmill page.

Features and Benefits

The 2.25 HP motor (not continuous duty) is good enough for walkers, but I don't think it is not powerful enough for runners. So if you plan on running, this machine is not for you. I suggest you visit our best buy treadmills page and look for a treadmill in the $1,500 or above price range.

The One-touch QuickSpeed control allows you to change the speed of your run from 0-10mph without the need of holding down buttons. And, if the speed is not enough, you can also elevate this treadmill for up to 10% to give you a more intense workout. But, since it has cheap internal parts, you shouldn’t maximize this treadmill’s capabilities.

A 16” x 50” tread belt also comes with this unit. However, this running surface might be too small for most people. I don’t think a small space like this is enough, even for regular size people, to have a comfortable workout.

The 3 window LCD display allows you to easily track your progress. It displays your feedbacks which include your speed, time, distance, calories, fat calories and pulse.

Other features include the EKG2™ thumb pulse sensor which shows your hearts rate, the CoolAir™ workout fan to help you remain fresh especially during those long workouts, and the SpaceSaver® fold away design so you can fold the treadmill after use to save space.

What This Treadmill Lacks

Proform used cheap parts in manufacturing this treadmill. As a result, this model’s quality and reliability is way below average.

Recommendation:

The quality of Proform treadmills have slightly improved in recent years. But they still have a long way to go. So for now, I would not recommend Proform treadmills yet, including the Proform PaceTrainer treadmill.

If you really want a quality entry level treadmill, I suggest you visit our best treadmill page. There, you will find treadmills we recommend arranged by price.
