inherited a treadmill....

by Karen
(Baltimore, MD USA)

and the top speed is about 1mph.

I paid for a gym repair tech to come perform a tune-up, hoping that would resolve the problem. However, it did not.

I read you have lifetime warranty...and am hoping this is salvageable.

Please tell me what information you need so that I can make a claim?

Thank you
Karen

Please provide make and model....
by: Jatinah

Hi Karen,

Please provide make and model of your treadmill and maybe someone can help.

If a treadmill gets to 1mph on its highest setting there are suspected failures on the lower control board for starters.

This lower board drives the walking belt and watches for valid feedback signals from a front roller and a motor encoder if used.

These feedback signals help the control board to "adjust" or regulate it's speed to the users settings.

So....

I suspect a problem with the lower board.

Now for the Lifetime Warranty issue....

No fitness manufacturer will again offer such, it was a marketing scheme that went very wrong for Smooth or Keys, both of whom have gone away and no other manufacturer would be so foolish, as there are too many possibilities for a failure to cover machines for a lifetime, otherwise the auto makers would do so as well ;o)

Fitness equipment electronics can be repaired thru Fitness Remedy in Sun Prairie, Wisc, ask for Josh or Greg, and best of luck to you!

Hi Karen:

Look for the make and model on your unit. The contact the manufacturer for how to process your claim. They will provide all the needed paperworks.
