Is It for You?

If you're looking for a treadmill below $1,000 that would offer spacious running surface and a big motor, then this machine is a good option. However, compared to some of the best treadmills in this price range, (See our best treadmill page) this machine's quality is a little bit behind.

What You’ll Get

The Horizon T203 comes with a powerful 2.75 HP continuous duty motor which has a max incline of 12% and a max speed of 12mph. This motor is pretty big considering this is just a $1,000 treadmill.

The console comes with a widescreen blue back-lit LCD window with 2 additional smaller windows to let you monitor more feedbacks at the same time. Plus, you can connect your iPod to the console and listen to your favorite music from the treadmill's speakers. And, with the iPod + Nike feature, you can save your workout data straight to your iPod for simple workout tracking.

Other features include 14 workout programs to give you more variety in your run, the CoolFit™ fitness fan to keep you fresh during those long workouts and the hydraulic lift assist which helps you to easily and safely fold and unfold the treadmill for storage.

And finally, the Horizon T203 treadmill comes with great warranties. It offers a lifetime warranty for frame and motor, 2 years warranty for parts and a year for labor. These warranties may not be as long as some of our best buy treadmills in this price range, but it is still one of the better warranties below $1,000.

Weakness

As I mentioned above, this machine came from cheap parts so the quality may not be as good as what you'd expect from other best buy treadmills in this price range.

Recommendation:

This is a very strong entry from Horizon in the $1,000 price range. It comes with one of the best specs for a budget treadmill so it would be hard not to recommend it. However, before you buy, you should take note that this is not a high quality machine so always remember to take good care of it.
