Gold's Gym Crosstrainer 600 Treadmill

I weigh 250+ lbs and have used this treadmill steadily for over 5 years. It only cost around $600 at the time I bought it at WalMart and I have used it every day. I use it for walking on an incline at about 3-5 miles per day. It had held up very well but it does require ongoing maintenance. I have replace the drive belt 2 times and the walking belt 1 time. I lubricate the under belt with Lifespan 100% silicone liquid about every 3-5 months or so. I do not recommend Gold's Gym models for running. After about 5 years of fairly heavy duty I think it is time for me to move up to a commercial model. This $600 treadmill served me over 5 years of heavy use...not bad. The weakest part of this treadmill has been the drive belts. I am always having to re-tension the belt to keep it from slipping. The motor is great. The electronics are great. The belts and lubrication are the difficult part of owning a treadmill.

Calorie burns

The calories you burn depend upon your age, weight, and the effort (heart rate) determined by the speed and incline. At a weight of 220 lbs I burn about 400 calories walking for 60 minutes at 3.5 mph on fairly level residential streets. I burn about 600 calories by walking for 60 minutes on a treadmill with a 5% incline at 3.5 mph. I would burn approximately 300 calories for 15 minutes of jogging on a treadmill with a speed of 5-6 mph at a 5% incline.

I love mine so far! Bought it used on craigslist and walk 3.7 mph for 30 min then run 5.5 till I reach 500 calories burned on 5 incline. No probs yet and I work it 4 to 5 days a week. I use the crosswalk handlebars and was curious as to what the calories burned were. I also would like to buy another handlebar as I wore one out! pretty tough to find so far. Any help?? Thanks!
