Evo FX2-M Treadmill Review

Evo FX2-M Treadmill

Evo FX2-M Treadmill

Update: This treadmill has been discontinued

The Evo FX2-M treadmill is similar to the Evo FX2 but with motion control, wireless heart rate control and better electronics. And even though the FX2-M is more expensive than the FX2, it is still the better model to buy if you want value for your money.

Is This Your Best Buy Treadmills?

If you’re looking for a decent low to mid priced treadmill with a solid feel and long warranties, then this is the unit for you. It is most fitting to soft runners and jogger alike. Plus, it is equipped with motion control feature which makes buying this model even more tempting.

What You’ll Get

This model is the cheapest treadmill in the Evo lineup that comes with motion control. This feature lets you adjust the speed of your run by waving your hand over light sensors on the handrail. It is perfect for hardcore runners who usually runs on a fast pace as it won’t require you to uncomfortably lean and reach forward while in motion, just to change your speed.

The Evo FX2-M treadmill offers a 2.5HP continuous duty motor which is capable of delivering speeds of up to 10mph and has 12 levels of incline. Combine this with the 1/4 mile running track, 3 preset programs with 12 levels of intensity, and 9 user programs, and you’ll get the variety, flexibility and power you need to attain your training goals.

However, serious runners might find this machine’s 18" x 53" running surface to be a little too small for hardcore running. But this is the average tread belt size in this price range. So if you think this deck won’t be good enough for you, you might want to consider buying a higher priced treadmill.(see our best buy treadmills page)

The handrail pulse grip monitor of this unit, together with its wireless heart rate control enables you to workout in your target heart rate zone for a more efficient exercise. And, with the new 5 window LED display, you’ll see your your calories/levels, time, pulse, distance simultaneously (No toggling required) so you’ll always keep track of your progress.

Other features include non-slip large rollers to extend the life of the belt, deck and roller bearings, a textured whisper weave belt to minimize noise, and shock-assisted manual fold with four-wheel castor system for easy movement and storage.

And finally, this treadmill comes with the same warranties as that of the Evo FX2. It has a warranty of 10 years for the motor, 5 years for the belt/deck/rollers, 3 years for parts, one year for labor and a lifetime for frame.

Weakness

So far, the weakness I see with this model is its small running deck. The motion control is a feature built for runners. However, with this machine’s small belt, I don’t think most hardcore runners would feel comfortable running on the EVO FX2-M.

Also, although the listed price already includes shipping, you would be charged extra for the indoor delivery and set-up. And you might be forced to pay this since the machine does require some assembly.

Recommendation

I would recommend the Evo FX2-M treadmill for those who want the motion control feature. However, I do suggest you try running on it first before deciding to buy just to be sure that you’ll be comfortable with the small running deck. If you find the small space limiting your movements, then I suggest you check out the Evo FX4-M treadmill. It is a bigger and better (in terms of value) treadmill than the Evo FX2-M.
