The Encore EC 1500 is the cheapest treadmill in the Encore line.

It is similar to the Discovery 120 treadmill (both brands are made by Key fitness), but this one gives you better value for your money.

Is This Treadmill Right for You?

This is considered as an entry level treadmill, so it would benefit those on a limited budget. But don’t expect too much from it, as this machine offers only basic features. If you want a feature rich treadmill with an affordable price tag, I recommend the Smooth 5.15P. It is currently our best buy entry level treadmill.

Features and Benefits

Unlike the Discovery series, the Encore series generously provides bigger motors. The Encore 1500 boasts a 2.5HP continuous duty motor, which is pretty powerful considering its price tag.

The 18inch x 51inch tread belt is below average. They should be offering more to if they really want to compete with quality machines in this price range. Well, at least you won’t see any repair bills soon, since the big motor can drive the small belt with ease.

Just like the most Keys Fitness treadmills, the Encore EC 1500 treadmill comes with 10 years motor warranty. That’s hard to beat especially in the price range it's in. Other warranties include… lifetime for frames, 2 years for parts and a year for labor.

Weakness

This is a decent treadmill for its price but some improvements are needed on the quality of the finish. However, if you treat it right you won’t have much of a problem.

Recommendation

I think this is a good unit, but I think there are other treadmills out there in the same price range that would give you better value for your money. (See our best buy treadmills page.) So to conclude, I don’t recommend the Encore EC 1500.
