Bremshey Treadline Trail

Treadmill just stopped working when I was walking on it, displaying the E1 error message. It could not be restarted and there appeared to be no cause for the problem. After talking to Accell(North American reps for Bremshey) service department, they suggested that the motor control board and the walking belt needed to be changed. This would cost nearly $500 including parts and labor. Having kept up with the rigorous maintenance outlined in the user manual, I was a bit surprised that a permanent and fatal error could occur on this rather expensive piece of equipment which proudly displays the words "German Design and Engineering" on its frame. I was told that ultimately, the error must have been mine. I lubricated the belt not enough, or too much, or used the treadmill in a way it was not intended. I was quite upset by this point and suggested that perhaps cheap components and a massive design flaw was responsible for my predicament. No more communication was possible after this.

As it stands, I have an $1800 treadmill, which only works as one after I cut the drive belt off. Now I can walk on it with just the rollers running free. Not at all what I paid for.
Reading the many problems with virtually every make and model of treadmills, I can only conclude that a non-motorized version is the only option.

E1 Error
by: Anonymous

Hi,

Have had the E1 error code twice; on both occasions the magnet embedded in the fly wheel driven by the motor came out of it's countersunk hole. If the magnet is missing the speed sensor can't detect how fast the treadmill is going, hence the E1 error.

On the first occasion the magnet attached itself to the base of the treadmill, so I just placed it back in the fly wheel; on the second occasion I couldn't find the magnet so got one from ebay for peanuts. Definitely worth checking yourself before getting it looked at by an engineer.

The magnet is 18mm diameter.

Hope this helps.

This worked for me
by: NicholaUK

I had the same error code. I fixed it with a makeup brush and a handheld vacuum.

I unplugged the machine, took off the motor cover and cleaned all the gubbin's inside (using said makeup brush and handheld vacuum).

Put the cover back in place (screwed in securely) and switched back on, been working fine for over six weeks now.

It's worth a try before expensive machanics.

AFG Treadmill 3.5AT error message E1
by: Anonymous

I have this error (E1) after a few seconds of running. Brand new just out of the box.

I found the problem. The wire going to the rotation detector was rubber through by a drive belt that is almost off the pulley. The motor was set too far to the right.

Well see how AFG deals with this. It's something I can fix in a few minutes (move the motor and fix the wire).

Display console is now blank and treadmill stopped working after a static shock. |
by: Anonymous

Hi Steeve,

before I start buying elements for the treadmill I would like to know if there is something that I can verify to see if it can be fixed.

The control board has all green lights and I hear a beep when I plug it in.

Does your repair man have an idea on what I should be checking or what the problem could be?

Thanks,

Paul

I have used it for several years and it has been working fine until recently when I switched on the machine and I found there was no sign of electricity went through.

The plugs and connections are all working normally, but there is no response from the machine.

Could anyone help?

by: Anonymous

The treadmill was in use when an electric burning odour occurred.

This was followed by a pop and the consul went dead.

Was going to replace the power board, but they don't appear to be available anymore.

Off to the re-cycle mill to dispose of it.

Maybe I will try a non-powered treadmill this time.

E1 Error
by: BMcK

Hi,

Had the E1 error about a year ago, the treadmill doctor , helped identify the problem at no cost.

The magnet on the motor had fallen off and therefore the sensor couldn't work out a speed, put the magnet back in (luckily had connected to the metal underside of the treadmill) and all was fine.

Now have a new problem where power is going to the treadmill but display console is blank, anyone else seen this?

Thanks in advance.

How to fix E1 code
by: Rdavidson

I live in Vancouver and I bought a Bremshey Trail.

As many here I also got an E1 error.

Luckily the machine was still under warranty so I got a technician that basically said that the problem was the electric governor ( or something along those lines) he said that the motor was not getting enough electric juice as needed and the machine would stop.

He said that 9 out of every 10 people with Bremsheys had this problem.

He fixed it in about 5 minutes and never gave me the error code again.

Email me if you need the technicians info.

If you live in the Vancouver area he's the man you need.

E1 code
by: Anonymous

Just like everyone I have a E1 error code, I contacted the company with no luck.

I contacted the dealer where I purchased the unit and they were no help.

I guess what they say we fix all units we sell is false (Finer Fitness)

E1 Error
by: Anonymous

It sounds like most of the postings concern a loose belt.

If the belt slips while the machine is operating it is designed to stop.

Slippage can often occur as one of your heels contacts the belt.

This was what was happening to me. tightening the belt solved the problem.

Bremshey Sport Ambition
by: Anonymous

Treadmill started to lose screen graphics and then died with a pop.

Power switch still works, but that is all.

Service person at Finer Fitness in Windsor seems to think it is the Lower Control Board (Motor Control Board).

Seems like an oft occurring problem with Bremshey.

It is a very expensive clothes rack.

Bremshey junk
by: Anonymous

I have experienced much the same as everyone else, after using the machine I decided to lubricate it with the lubricant that was supplied when purchased.

Now it quits when used showing a E1 code, after shutting off power and turning it back on it will work again.

Discouraged after reading the other reviews and finding that the company has bailed, so much for spending good money on a worthless machine.

Same issue with my Bremshey Ambition.

Tunturi/Bremshey no longer has a presence in North America.

Terrible experience dealing with their headquarters in The Netherlands.

They basically said tough luck, we won't help you.

Bremshey Pacer
by: Anonymous

I have had a Bremshey Pacer since 2008.

Not the best but I use it 4-5 time/ week and earlier this year the lower control board fried.

Took a bit of searching but I found a place in Ontario Canada () that shipped me new board ($310 all in) and it's now working fine.

I am now looking to replace the worn walking belt.

Not bad I guess for a $1200.00 unit.

Maybe they can help.

I have the exact same problem with my treamill as well, I've been in contact with the service dept. of the place where I bought mine and he said that bremshey has shut down in North America.

When I contacted Bremshey direct by e-mail all I got back was a sorry can't help you you have to contact the people who you bought it from.

Anyways my service guy said it's the speed sensor wire that is either offline or dead.

Bremshey Treadmill
by: Anonymous

We bought the Bremshey treadmill 3 years ago.

About 4 months after buying, it broke.

They came and fixed it.

Now, it is dead again.

I was just notified that Bremshey closed its doors in NorthAmerica so parts can't be found.

What a waste of $2000.

Make sure you don't buy one.
