Bowflex Treadclimber TC5000

by Jillian
(New York)

I have the Bowflex Treadclimber TC5000. Though it was more expensive than some of the other options out there
but I have had excellent results and the cost is certainly justified. And of course we have the quality of Bowflex so I know it wont fall apart in a year.

TC3000
by: Anonymous

I wanted to counter some of the negative things that one person replied about the quality.

I have the TC3000 which is very similar that I got used for $250.

I have had it for about 3-4 yrs and although I don't use it a lot it has been a rock solid performer.

It does have dual treads which I suppose could mean more potential for repairs but each tread & motor is not working as hard as a single wide tread.

They aren't for everyone. My wife doesn't like it. It takes a bit more coordination but it does give a more vigorous workout than a standard treadmill because it combines stepping with walking.

I don't run on it and not sure I could but I am very happy with this machine. I would not pay $2000-3000 for it or any machine as I can't afford that.

I am happy to buy used equipment in good shape.

The Treadclimer is the best treadmill - REALLY???
by: Fitness Equipment Sales Rep

I find that really interesting, because you are first person that I've ever met, that owns one that likes it.

I sell them at the store I work at and they are TERRIBLE!!

My customer feedback has been negative.

Quality? They are made by Nautilus, a large fitness equipment company with a range of products, the Bowflex line is only a mid-range product.

But the worst part is the MSRP is so outrageous compared with the dealer cost.

It's usually marked up by 50-60% whereas most other 'quality' products are around 36-40% markup.

So the value of what you are getting is quite low. Not only that you have to worry about TWO treadmills. Which is a potential maintenance issue.

And if one fails, it's pricey to replace.

Results? The fastest the machine will go is 5.0mph and even that is tricky, and only works if you are really co-ordinated.

Remember there are TWO treadmills running independently. I find it takes a lot of concentration on the machine to keep it moving and the pistons to work properly.

I'd rather use an elliptical and be able to watch TV and not my feet all workout long.

This also helps me workout longer. I find all of this would make it challenging to get good results.

I would definitely advise to look at other options out there, rather than choose the Treadclimber.
